Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) to support Persons with Disabilities

Description

AAC is a set of tools and strategies that an individual uses to solve every day communication challenges. It includes all forms of communication (other than oral speech) that are used to express thoughts, needs, wants and ideas.

This course will provide learners with an overview of available high-tech and low-tech AAC tools as well as the considerations when allocating AAC tools to specific students. In addition, the course will include designing a lesson with AAC requirements.
