Description

Working successfully with students with learning disabilities requires an in-depth understanding of behaviour and its functions. The next step of analysing their behaviour then leads to informed decisions on using a range of strategies to promote positive behaviour. In this way, we address their underlying needs instead of merely dealing with “symptoms” on the surface.

 This insightful course gives you a foundation on human behaviour and the possible causes of challenging behaviour. You will examine different facets of behaviour using authentic and contextualised case scenarios and a range of proactive and reactive strategies for positive interaction and engagement in the classroom with students with ADHD, ASD, and Dyslexia. As this workshop focuses largely on acquisition of strategies to interact and engage with students, you will be asked to participate in a series of role-plays based on a range of scenarios, with personalised observation, feedback, and coaching from our trainer.
